UTAH
Dead Horse Point Is located in Utah. It is a gooseneck formed by the
Green River. It is a state park that is adjacent to Canyonlands National Park.
It is the same terrain as Canyonlands.
Dead Horse Point is a natural corral. Horses used to be rounded up and
held on the point which the Green River surrounds. The neck leading to this
point is only 35 feet wide. Once the the gate was opened for the horses
to go free. The horses did not leave through the neck instead either starving
to death or jumping off the edge. Hence the name - Dead Horse Point.
